Thompson Mill Road Extension

The Thompson Mill Road Extension project will extend the road to reach GA Highway 247 at the intersection of 247 and Piney Grove Road.

Right now, neighborhoods at the end of Thompson Mill Road are restricted to solely Thompson Mill- a dead-end road- for ingress and egress to their homes. Should an incident or natural disaster block Thompson Mill Road, residents will not be able to leave their communities, and anyone on the outside, including emergency personnel, will not be able to reach those affected by the blockade.

This has remained a longstanding public safety issue and a concern amongst public safety officials. We look forward to addressing and solving these concerns with this road extension project.

We expect the Thompson Mill Road Extension project to have all committed SPLOST funds available by Q3 of 2027.
