Jail Roof Replacement in Houston County

The Houston County Detention Center at 203 Perry Parkway opened in 2002 as a state-of-the-art direct supervision facility for men and women detained by the Houston County Sheriff’s Office.

With a capacity to hold 665 inmates and a complete staff of officers and employees, the Houston County Detention Center is one of the only government facilities in the county to operate 24/7/365. It is also used by all municipalities in the county, meaning a lot of people rely on the function of this building to protect citizens across Houston County.

Since its opening over two decades ago, the Houston County Detention Center has had its original roof, which is starting to show signs of needing replacement within the next five to six years. This project will fund the expense of a new roof to maintain the integrity of the building and protect all who work or are detained inside of it.

We expect the Jail Roof Replacement project to have all committed SPLOST funds available by Q4 of 2028.
