SPLOST at Work
for Our Community
On November 7, 2023, Houston County passed the county-wide SPLOST tax, a 1% Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax, to be collected over a six-year period until 2030.
The revenue collected through SPLOST is funding ten county-wide projects proposed by the county government and participating municipal governments. Together, these projects address the needs of those who live, work, and play in Houston County and promote safety, education, and economic growth across all Houston County communities. In addition to these county-wide projects, the county and three municipalities each receive independent disbursements from SPLOST proceeds.
